AN ARTIST from Japan will showcase his ceramic work at the Ashmolean Museum on Saturday.

Based in Toki, Japan, Niisato Akio is known for his innovative work in luminous porcelain vessels and light-play through surfaces.

People can meet the artist, learn about his career and watch live demonstrations of his techniques at the museum this weekend.

The presentation is part of the museum's Clay Live Programme and starts at 2pm.
