All lanes have now re-opened on the A34 at Chilton following a crash.
Both lanes were originally closed but now traffic has returned to normal.
There was traffic on the carriageway southbound as well as northbound this evening due to an accident.
Simon Hayes, a driver who was sat in the traffic for around an hour, said an air ambulance and two fire engines were in attendance.
Oxfordshire County Council tweeted an updated alert this evening.

Highways England also tweeted an alert, saying a lane two closure on the southbound carriageway would remain.
They also instructed drivers to not move their vehicles.

The incident has now been cleared.
