A ROAD that was submerged in water this morning is now clear.
Cars ploughed through huge amounts of water after a water main burst on Ferry Hinksey Road, Oxford, this morning.
Three Thames Water vans were at the scene and the team said the pipe - which is 24 inches in diameter - burst at around 5am this morning.
Cars had to creep along the road, unsure about how deep the water was.
A spokesman from Thames Water said: “We’re sorry for any disruption the burst pipe has caused this morning. We stopped the flow of water soon after it was reported to us and are now planning our repairs.
"No water supplies have been affected and, as the burst happened in a car park, our work to fix the pipe will not have any impact on the surrounding road network.”
Puddles remain but the road is now clear.
