BEN Goodall landed gold in the second qualifying event for the British Championships in Sheffield.
The Harwell gymnast remains unbeaten in domestic competition since the start of last year, making it five victories in a row.
He now has his sights firmly set on defending his national title in Birmingham in September.
Heading into the competit-ion on the back of impressively winning gold at the first qualifying event in Telford
last month, Goodall – who is a third year chiropractic Masters student – found himself in second place with 33.8 points after the first round of routines.
He then clinched gold with a triple-twisting double somersault, taking his tally to 67.3 to claim victory by 0.3.
Goodall’s overall mark was also a qualifying score for the World Championships, boosting his hopes of making the Great Britain team for November’s event in Tokyo.

The Abingdon Gymnastics Club member won level 2 silver, helping him qualify for the individual finals in Coventry next month.
