Healthwatch Oxfordshire, the county’s independent health and social care watchdog, will launch its annual report at a public meeting in Oxford.

It will highlight some of the group's work from the past 12 months, including efforts to encourage greater take-up of free NHS health checks, and investigating NHS dental care in Oxfordshire, especially in care homes.

It has also been supporting Patient Participation Groups in GP surgeries and gathering people’s experiences of using community physiotherapy services in the county since they were contracted out to a new provider.

The meeting will take place at the King’s Centre, Osney Mead, on Tuesday, June 25, from 6.30pm to 8pm. Members of the staff team will give presentations on different aspects of their work.

Rosalind Pearce, executive director of Healthwatch Oxfordshire, said: “This is a great opportunity to find out more about how we have made a difference to improving health and care services in the county over the past year.

“We will also be outlining our plans for the year ahead, which include working the large armed forces community in the county, and also finding out more about people’s experiences of using mental health services.

"Everyone is welcome to attend what promises to be an interesting and informative event.”
