THE city council's cabinet agreed to plough on with the extension to Seacourt Park and Ride on Wednesday.
The council agreed to increase the budget for the work to £5.2m at its budget in February.
The authority's company Oxford Direct Services will build the extension off Botley Road.
The extension was given planning permission twice. It had initially been hoped that 685 new spaces would have been built – but only 596 will be delivered. Ten new disabled spaces will also be built.
