A FARM near Wallingford is one of a number around the county set to open its doors to the public this weekend as part of the national Open Farm Sunday campaign.

Crowmarsh Battle Farms Ltd will give the public a free insight into the world of farming in Preston Crowmarsh, from 10am - 4pm.

The annual initiative, which is organised by LEAF (Linking Environment and Farming) is helping to showcase British farming by welcoming visitors to seven of its farming partners across the UK.

During the day, visitors to Crowmarsh Battle Farm will learn about agriculture and meet the people involved with producing food, managing the countryside and protecting natural resources.

There will also be tractor and trailer rides, insight into how food is grown throughout the year, precision farming techniques, environmental projects and brewing and milling demonstrations.

In a Facebook post, the farm explained: “We are lucky to have a number of local farmers and other volunteers from Nettlebed and District Farming Club coming to help us on the day with tractor and trailer rides and light refreshments, along with White Pond Farm, Stonor who will be serving some hot food."
