Former rugby union players Max Evans, Louis Deacon, Chris Wyles and Paul Doran-Jones teed off with Samoan former rugby star Freddie Tuilagi, Olympic gold-medallist rower Greg Searle, former England Test cricketers Nick Compton and Matthew Hoggard plus World Golf Trick Shot Champion Geoff Swain were among those who attended.

Money raised from the day will go to the Matt Hampson Foundation, which helps to improve the quality of life and wellbeing for young people who have sustained catastrophic injury through sport or the pursuit of other physical recreational activities.

Mr Hampson was left paralysed from the neck down when a scrum collapsed during a training session with the England Under-21 Squad in 2005. He established the Foundation in 2011 to assist those who had experienced similar injuries, both practically by offering financial aid to assist with equipment, technology or just every day expenses and by offering mentoring, friendship and education.

The 18-hole Texas Scramble tournament took place on Wednesday at The Springs Golf Club last week.
