A man from Abingdon who assaulted a man leaving him with multiple fractures to his skull, face and a serious brain injury, has been convicted of grievous bodily harm.
After being found guilty by a majority jury verdict after a five day trial, David Evans, 50, of Turbeville Close, was convicted of one count of GBH with intent at Oxford Crown Court last Friday.

He assaulted the 58-year-old man - who currently remains in hospital - on October 1 last year in Bath Road, Abingdon.
Mr Evans will be sentenced at Oxford Crown Court on April 25.
Investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Rob Underhill, of Force CID Abingdon station, said: "David Evans carried out a vicious attack on the victim, leaving him with life changing injuries.
“The victim remains in hospital and was not able to provide evidence during the trial. He is being supported by his family and close friends, who have all acted with great dignity.

“The alarm was raised by a member of the public who challenged Evans during the assault, and called for emergency services.
“Without this person’s intervention, the victim may not have survived had he not received immediate medical attention.”
