A WOMAN was pushed to the ground in Oxford city centre by a cyclist.

At around midnight on Sunday, February 10, a 47-year-old woman was walking on New Road in the direction of the Westgate Centre when a man cycled up behind her.

'Words were exchanged', police say, before the man pushed her over.

Today, police released a CCTV image of a man who may have information.

The victim sustained injuries to her head. She attended the John Radcliffe Hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.

Investigating officer, PC Matthew Watson, based at Cowley police station said: “I am releasing this image as I believe the man in the picture may have vital information that can assist in my investigation.

“I am urging anybody who recognises this person to contact the 24-hour non-emergency number 101."
