AN OXFORDSHIRE couple have been seeking divine intervention over Brexit.

Colin and Sandra Findlay, from Banbury, had a stand at last week's Christian Resources Exhibition in Manchester, which encouraged visitors to offer a prayer for the divisive decisions yet to be made.

Mrs Findlay said: "We had people frustrated by Brexit and the many issues concerning it that they did not understand.

"They admitted that all they could do was to pray about it."

People were invited to add their prayers on post-it notes to the prayer wall on their stand.

Among the first to do so was Dana (real name Rosemary Brown) -one time Eurovision winner and a former Irish MEP.

Mrs Findlay said: "Dana told me that in her view this was the most important stand out of the 150 at the exhibition."

The hundreds of prayer notes will be taken back to their Banbury home and used by a prayer team from the Life Church in Brackley, which they attend.

The Warwick Road couple said that so many people were frightened about the implications involved in leaving or remaining in the EU and the complexity of the issues surrounding it.

Mrs Findlay added: "Many are quite fearful. But having thought about it and written down a prayer they felt a little more confident for the future."
