FAMILIES and schoolchildren are wanted to help save frogs, fish and fowl.

Wild Oxfordshire has appealed for volunteers of all ages to help with its bi-annual citizen science test of water quality in ponds, streams and rivers.

The eighth Oxfordshire Waterblitz will be held on April 26-29.

This bi-annual event, first launched in September 2015, involves hundreds of volunteers carrying out quick and easy to use tests for phosphates and nitrates in local ponds, lakes, ditches, springs, streams and rivers.

The testing can identify key pollution sources or clean water spots that act as refuges for wildlife threatened by unclean habitats.
