FREE cancer advice and support will be available in Bicester, Carterton and Chipping Norton this week as the Macmillan Cancer Support bus returns.

Anyone with worries relating to cancer is encouraged to stop by, whether they’re living with cancer, or care for someone who is.

The team of specialists will also be able to offer advice and support on the financial impact of cancer.

Macmillan research shows that 83 per cent of patients are, on average, £570 a month worse off due to being unable to work and having increased costs such as travel to hospital or increased fuel bills.

Macmillan Information and Support Specialist Tina Churchill, said: “It’s really important that people living with cancer are able to access the financial advice and support they are entitled to, so they can focus on what’s most important: their health.

“That’s why we’re coming to Oxfordshire, so we can answer any questions about cancer.

"Whether you want to know what symptoms to look out for, need advice about managing the side effects of your treatment, or want to find local support for carers, come along and see us."

Last year the mobile service supported 2,435 people across Oxfordshire.

The bus will be at Bicester Tesco, Lakeview Drive tomorrow from 10am to 4pm; Carterton Market, Market Square on Thursday from 10am to 4pm; and then at Market Place outside Sainsburys, Chipping Norton on Friday from 9am to 3pm.
