THE power of human relationships will be among the topics discussed at an Oxford version of the famous Ted Talks next month.

TEDxOxford will bring together 12 speakers from Oxford and around the world, all talking discussing how, by uniting towards a common goal, humanity can produce 'powerful and meaningful' outcomes.

The overall theme for this year’s talks on February 10 at New Theatre, Oxford, is Building Bridges’.

Speakers such as Alexander Betts, a refugee and migration specialist at Brasenose College, Oxford, will be talking about changing the way we view immigration, while Deborah Brown from the Campaign for Female Education (CAMFED) will explain how female empowerment can lead to progressive change in developing countries.

The fight against ageing will be discussed by Liz Parrish, the CEO of BioViva - a biotechnology company - and Alex McCallion, the founder of Greater Change, a homelessness charity, will argue that technology can bring huge positives to the work of charities.

Alex Mash, head of speakers said: “The vision of TED is the diffusion of knowledge to better understand the world. This year it is all about empowering our audience to understand where society is going wrong and to act to improve the world we live in.”
