SHOPPERS are being urged to support Stroud traders this Christmas.

Stroud Christmas Markets are being held at the Cornhill on Wednesday, December 19, Thursday, December 20 and Friday, December 21.

And organisers say they will be the best yet.

Organiser Gerb Gerbrands said: “This is the sixth year that the Christmas markets have taken place in the Cornhill in the run up to the final farmers’ market, on Saturday, December 22 this year, with the clarion call to finish your Christmas shopping in Stroud.

“Once again we are calling to all and sundry to discover the unique shopping atmosphere Stroud has to offer.

“With our fabulous range of independent retailers, vintage shops and great range of eateries Stroud is the place to find those unique gifts that will make someone’s Christmas special.

“Stroud can’t compete with Bristol or Cheltenham when it comes to buying the stuff you see advertised on the tele but what we have is our uniqueness.

“This year’s markets are bigger and better than ever with more than 30 stalls at each market.

“There are food and drinks such as CocoCaravan, Gould’s Cheddar, Salt Pig Curing, Woodchester Valley Vineyard, Za Za Maroc, The Wacky Waffle Van and Crow’s Nest Soups at the market café plus a wide range of artists and makers such as As The Crows Fly, Marion Mitchel, Goblin Market, NG Leather, Sheep n Chic, Dizzibirds Textiles and Ye Green Men to name but a few. Each day will see a different range of stalls with some traders doing all three events. Markets will run from 9am to 4pm.
