THIEVES smashed their way into a home in North Oxford in a bid to steal booze.
Thames Valley Police said thieves broke into a home in Linkside Avenue this morning by smashing a ground floor window, reaching inside to unlock it before climbing in at 3am.
Once inside, a second window was shattered on and internal door but the thieves didn't delve further into the home.
Instead they stole alcohol before 'discarding it on the patio'.
The victim woke to see two dark figures holding a torch walking down the garden away from the property.
