A MAN shown in a CCTV police appeal after an elderly woman was assaulted with a frozen tub of butter in a supermarket has been identified.

However despite the positive ID, officers said yesterday there have been no arrests in the case.

The 74-year-old victim sustained swelling and severe bruising to her lip during the assault at the Co-op supermarket on the High Street, Eynsham.

The woman was queueing when the offender pushed in front of her.

When she highlighted the queue behind her the man threw the rock-hard tub of butter in her face.
