A VIDEO showcasing an Oxford GP practice's work to help the homeless been recognised by a national health watchdog.

The short film, ‘Patient Voices…Our Story’, was produced by Healthwatch Oxfordshire and focused on the work doen by the Luther Street practice.

The video won the 'Highly Commended' award at the Healthwatch Network Awards in a category concerned with 'championing diversity and inclusion'

There were more than 150 entries in total, across seven categories.

Health Oxfordshire chief executive Rosalind Pearce said: “We are delighted to win this award.

"It is a testament to the hard work and passion shown by everyone involved with the Patient Participation Group at Luther Street, who work tirelessly for their fellow patients to help improve the service they receive.”

Luther Street GP practice services the city’s homeless population and the film highlighted how the patients themselves were getting involved to shape how services are run.

The project was shot by local filmmaker Nicola Josse made with the Patient Participation Group of Luther Street Surgery, Oxford, and Oxford Health, with grant funding provided by NHS England.
