HEDGEHOG sightings in Oxfordshire are the second highest in the UK, with more than 800 spotted by residents across the county.

The Hedgehog Street campaign, run by wildlife charities the British Hedgehog Preservation Society and People’s Trust for Endangered Species, has collated sightings since 2015 to create a ‘heat map’ showing where the public are most actively recording sightings.

Hampshire is currently on top with 1,250, while Oxfordshire is in joint second place with Greater Manchester on 803.

Bottom is Bath and north east Somerset with just 60 spotted.
