A VITAL route between two West Oxfordshire villages has been reopened this evening after emergency gas repairs.
Cassington Road was closed yesterday and all day today, between Yarnton Road and the A44, close to Worton Park, by SGN Gas to fix a leak.
A notice on the utility company's website at around 11:30am said: "We've managed to complete the repairs to our network and we'll be starting road resurfacing work shortly.
"All being well, we expect to complete this today in order to reopen the road this evening."
It reopened this evening.
There were fears about the impact the closure of the route, which links Cassington and Yarnton, will have on traffic, with thousands of motorists heading to the area for Countryfile Live at Blenheim Palace today.
@SGNgas @OxfordCity @OxfordCity @TVP_WestOxon get the cassington/ yarnton road open asap ! Locals can’t move without it, with @Countryfilelive on
