Cotswold Wildlife Park has said it is still monitoring its water-logged car park after days of heavy rain rendered it unusable over the Easter Weekend.

The popular attraction in West Oxfordshire urged families to delay visiting the park last week following the flooding.

Today the park said it was currently 'coping' with the number of visitors.

However, bosses warned that visitors may be subject to delays and may even be turned away if limited available parking runs out.

Managing director Reggie Hayworth said: "There's still a few spongy bits but it's a lot better than it was over the Easter weekend.

"It looks like we're coping but we'll be monitoring it closely.

"We'd like to thank everyone for their support.

"If anyone is planning to visit then feel free to give us a ring or check the website or Facebook page."

Last week visitors were warned to expect 'severe delays' and that they may be met with locked gates once the smaller tarmac car park is full.
