TWO employees from Charlie Longsdon’s Chipping Norton yard have been shortlisted for the 2018 Godolphin Stud and Stable Staff Awards.
Anneli Lewis, who led up Drop Out Joe at the Randox Health Grand National at Aintree in April, is in the final ten for the rider/groom accolade.
And Alice Aucott, who accompanied Hammersly Lake to the United States for the American Grand National in October, faces nine other contenders for the David Nicholson newcomer award.
The ceremony takes place at the Jumeirah Carlton Tower in London on February 19.
Meanwhile, Castafiore returned to winning ways for Longsdon with victory at Doncaster.
The four-year-old filly held off Gran Maestro by a head to land an extended two-mile handicap hurdle under Paul O’Brien.
On the Flat, Iley Boy got off the mark for Chastleton owner-trainer John Gallagher at Wolverhampton.
The three-year-old gelding stayed on well to record a length verdict over New Abbey Angel in a mile-and-a-half handicap with Ben Curtis on board.
