SWIMMING: Upton’s David Murphy came third behind world record holder Adam Peaty in the Manchester International.
In a fast 100m breaststroke final, Peaty won the race, but Murphy, who competes for City of Oxford, picked up bronze in the event regarded as trials for the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
HOCKEY: Wallingford ladies beat Oxford University 2nd 8-1.
Louise Conlon (2), Taz Chamberlain and Frankie Brown put them 4-0 up in the Trysports Three Counties League Premier 1 encounter.
Megan Jones, Chamb-erlain, Philippa Morris and Brown also netted.
