NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 16 March 2020 Oxfordshire County Council made the above orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and they come into force on 23 March. Order 1 is new and brings together the various speed limits between the rural areas of Banbury to Chipping Norton and parishes between. The effect of the orders is as follows:
a. to introduce, in place of the current unrestricted (60mph), a 40mph speed limit on the A361 Bloxham Road, south-westwards from the Banbury town 30mph limit, to just south of Wykham Lane (where the 50mph limit meets);
b. to introduce, in place of the current unrestricted (60mph) a 50mph speed limit on the A361 South Newington Road, from 336 metres southwest of Cumberford, to 250 metres northeast of The Town junction (through the parishes of Bloxham, Milcombe & South Newington);
c. to introduce, in place of the current unrestricted (60mph) a 50mph speed limit on the A361 Banbury Road from near the Barford Road junction, south-westwards to near Great Tew Road (through the parishes of Little Tew, Swerford, Great Tew, South Newington);
d. to extend the 40mph speed limit on the A361 Banbury Road, leading out of Chipping Norton by 120 metres.
Orders 2 & 3 will replace the existing speed limit orders for those areas - the (Chipping Norton Area) (Speed Limits) Order 2017, and the Oxfordshire County Council (Bloxham Parish) (Speed Limits) Order 2018 will be revoked and replaced.
