Former England captain Andrew Flintoff made a surprise return for Lancashire in final of the NatWest T20 Blast against Birmingham Bears - exactly five years since his final day of Test cricket.
Flintoff has made just two appearances in the competition since coming out of retirement this year but has been struggling with a calf injury in recent weeks and sat on the sidelines for his side's 41-run semi-final win over Hampshire.
But within minutes of that match concluding, the 36-year-old all-rounder was confirmed as a replacement for the injured Kabir Ali.
Flintoff's name was cheered to the rafters when Lancashire's XI was read out over the public announcement system, eclipsing the reaction afforded to any of the hosts.
Birmingham Bears, also straightforward winners in their first match of Finals Day, seeing off Surrey by 16 runs, won the toss and chose to set a total.
