Gary Barlow is to organise a special concert for BBC charity Children In Need.
The Take That star will put together a spectacular musical event to be held at the Royal Albert Hall this autumn as part of this year's Children In Need fundraising, featuring performances from his group and a host of rock and pop's finest acts.
Gary said: "It's fantastic to be able to kick off BBC Children In Need 2009 in such a special way."
He added: "I've always wanted to do something like this and I can promise a night to remember, a night that will, I hope, play a small part in changing the lives of disadvantaged children across the UK."
The full line-up of performers and ticket details will be revealed in the autumn.
All profits from the tickets and sales of recordings will go to BBC Children In Need.
Jay Hunt, Controller of BBC One, said: "This year the very best of British musicians, led by Gary Barlow, will stage a spectacular night at the Albert Hall in aid of BBC Children In Need."
David Ramsden, Children In Need CEO, added: "We are so excited. It's going to be a brilliant night and will help us make a difference to lots of young lives."
Last year the appeal raised more than £36 million to help disadvantaged children and young people in the UK.
