OXFORD Harlequins have bolstered their squad with five signings.

Rory Garrett, Ralph Jones and Antonio Turetta have joined the South West 1 East side.

Flanker Pete Alston has returned to Quins after taking a year off due to personal reasons, while fellow back-row forward Joe Nalewabau has committed himself to the club after work restricted his playing time in 2017/18.

Half-backs Garrett and Jones are familiar names to the side.

The former came through the junior system at Quins and returns after completing his degree at Swansea University, while the latter is back after a short spell with Littlemore.

Turetta is new to the club, signing from Italian side Arieti, and is looking forward to getting started.

The utility back said: “Rugby is my priority and the main reason I have decided to move to England.

“Everyone has been incredibly welcoming since I arrived.”

Quins held their annual general meeting earlier this week.

Members were able to see how the building work on the artificial pitch at their new Horspath Sports Ground home is progressing, as well as hear about plans to to improve the clubhouse and changing rooms.

Chairman Neil Hopper, facilities manager James Knox, youth chairman Stuart Wells and secretary Jack Pooler were also made life vice-presidents.

Hopper said: “We are all honoured to receive this recognition and proud to be Quins.”

LITTLEMORE have signed former Oxford University prop and six-time Varsity Match winner Lewis Anderson.

The Southern Counties North side are also in the process of appointing a new captain after Rich Tattersall stepped down due to personal reasons.
