BANBURY have done all they can to ensure their game is given the go ahead tomorrow.

The South West 1 East high-fliers have moved their home fixture against Royal Wootton Bassett to the 3G pitch at Whitelands Farm, Bicester.

With the Beast from the East sweeping across the country, Banbury are desperate to play in the face of plummeting temperatures and heavy snow.

The promotion-pushing Bulls are already a game behind the majority of the league and have a match scheduled against Old Centralians on March 17 – the next available weekend.

Head coach Matt Goode said: “We don’t necessarily want to play on Easter Saturday, which is currently a free week.

“We’ve already got a game on March 17.

“We’re desperate to play this weekend.”

Bicester are due to host Oxford Harlequins, while Grove and Witney take on Old Centralians and Marlow respectively.

Chinnor’s second team have booked the 3G pitch at Aylesbury, but the club say they cannot afford to make the same arrangement for their first XV.

The National League 2 South side are due to host Barnstaple at Kingsey Road.

But with the March 17 date still available, director of rugby Matt Williams would rather postpone the game than play it at a neutral venue.

He said: “Our first team will be playing at home.

“We can’t move it because of the revenue we would lose.

“We would just have to postpone it.”

Henley Hawks host third-placed Taunton Titans.
