CHINNOR have looked to further strengthen their options ahead of the new season with the acquisition of three forwards.

The National League 2 South club have secured the permanent signing of Alex Bradley after a successful loan spell from Ealing Trailfinders last season.

Director of rugby Matt Williams has also captured Will Bordill from Glasgow Warriors and Rotherham Titans forward George Oliver.

Bradley impressed while on loan at Kingsey Road despite playing out of position at open-side as Chinnor just missed out on the play-offs by virtue of games won.

Williams is planning to use him at either blind-side or No 8 this campaign.

He said: “Alex Bradley is an outstanding ball-carrier, who was slightly restricted in the fact I played him at seven.

“This year I will remove the shackles and let him do what he wants best.”

Scotland Under 20 international Bordill joins from Pro12 side Glasgow Warriors.

The 24-year-old has captained their A team and played in the B&I Cup, while he won the BT Premiership last season when dual registered with Ayr.

Williams said: “Will is an out-and-out jackling seven in the vein of Neil Back.

“I’m very excited he has chosen us as his semi-professional home and he’s a natural leader”

Bordill added: “I’m delighted to be playing at a club as ambitious as Chinnor.

“They were really unlucky to miss out on promotion last year and we will be going all out to get it right this year.”

Oliver joins Chinnor, having played the majority of his career at open-side, but is looking to further his career by switching to hooker.

He said: “As a fetcher seven, the modern-day game has gone away from this skill.

“If I want to go to the highest level, hooker is the right move for me to make and Matt has been successful in turning back-row forwards into front rows in the past.

“I’m excited to stick my head in the front row and give it my best shot.”
