WITNEY had replacement prop Jamie Burke sent off as they went down 20-13 at home to Old Patesians.

At one stage, it looked as though the hosts would inflict on the leaders their second defeat in South West 1 East, as they led 13-10 at half-time.

After 13 minutes, Patesians led 10-3, responding to Phil Thomas’s early penalty for Witney with a try by lock Joshua Stevens, plus a conversion and penalty from fly half Osaki Toyuyo.

Witney played well in the loose and set up centre Charlie Dyde, who sidestepped his way over the line. Thomas converted and added a penalty before the break.

After a tight 20 minutes, Patesians gained the vital score, No 8 George Angell going over from a maul for Tokuyo to convert and the add a penalty.

Witney’s chances of levelling were ended by Burke’s late red card, but at least they gained a bonus point.

Oxford Harlequins conceded four tries in ten minutes during the second half as they lost 39-19 away to Old Centralians.

The visitors led 14-3 at half-time thanks to tries from debutant Tom Edwards and flanker Charlie Ward, both converted by Joey Todd.

After landing a second penalty through Olly Locke, Centralians scored four quick tries to go 34-14 ahead.

Quins’ Matt Edney went over for a try, before the hosts added a fifth try.

Banbury drew 14-14 at home to Windsor, despite leading 14-0 at half-time.

First-half-tries from Jack Briggs and the elusive Jimmy Manley, converted by Ed Phillips, put the hosts in control.

Windsor halved the deficit with a converted try, and levelled when scoring under the posts following a charged-down kick.
