VARSITY-WINNING fly half George Cullen will fulfill his dream of playing at a higher level after signing a professional deal with London Scottish.

The 22-year-old trained with the Greene King IPA Championship side towards the end of the season.

And Cullen, who played an integral role in Oxford University’s victories over Cambridge in 2014 and 2015, joined the Richmond-based club yesterday.

The half back kicked all the Dark Blues’s points in their tense 12-6 victory at Twickenham last December and told the Oxford Mail earlier this year he harboured dreams of playing full-time rugby.

After completing his Master’s degree in sustainable urban development, Cullen, who also played for National League 2 South side Bishop’s Stortford this season, was thrilled to join Scottish.

He said: “I can’t wait to get in to the professional game and start at London Scottish where there seems to be real excitement with what is to come next year.

“I’ve been really impressed by the ambition the club is showing for next season in wanting to play a really exciting brand of rugby, as well as attracting a really motivated group of players.”
