OXFORD Harlequins climbed to fourth in South West 1 East after a 25-10 win over Windsor.

A try from winger Ed Yeats gave the hosts a tenth-minute lead, before Sam Watkinson’s penalty made it 8-0.

A fine team move ended with flanker Robin Craig going over, but Windsor reduced the deficit before half-time through Jack Hayler’s penalty.

Jack Crowe’s try put Quins 18-3 ahead, and although Windsor scored through John Hilton, converted by Jack Gaylor, the hosts wrapped up victory when Jack Robinson went on a 35-metre run to the posts.

Watkinson’s conversion sealed a fine team display.

Quins now lie one place behind Witney, who got back to winning ways with a 23-8 success over Maidenhead.

Henry Lamb’s penalty gave them an early advantage, before Gareth Campbell dived over to make it 8-0.

Maidenhead’s Tom Finney was on target with a penalty, but Witney moved 13-3 ahead at half-time when right wing Rhys Morgan raced over to score.

Lamb’s second penalty on 51 minutes put the hosts in control, and they all but sealed victory 60 seconds later when Scott Mortimer touched down for a try that Lamb converted to make it 23-3.

They were, however, unable to add further points, and it was Maidenhead who had the last word when Finney scored an unconverted try.

But it could not dampen Witney’s success as they remain just three points off second place.

Grove moved away from the foot of the table with a 17-13 victory over Trowbridge.

The win sees them move to within a point of their rivals.
