A LATE try by prop Tom Heydon gave Gosford All Blacks an 18-13 win at home to Tadley Tigers, who lost their unbeaten record in the BB&O Premier Division.
Gosford took an early lead with a try from hooker Liam Donnelly, who ran in from 20 metres. Tim Ellis’s penalty made it 8-0 at half-time.
After Tadley replied with a penalty from fly half Craig Raymond, Gosford’s debutant scrum half Rob Woods set up an unconverted try for Dan Hughes.
Raymond pulled Tadley level with a penalty and then converted his own try.
But Gosford reasserted their forward dominance for Heydon to score the decider.
Abingdon made it five wins out of five with a 12-10 success at Crowthorne to stay joint top. Four penalty goals from Chris Stable saw Abingdon home.
Didcot suffered their first defeat in the BB&O Championship when going down 28-27 at Faringdon, who won with a last-minute penalty.
The visitors led 27-8, with tries from Charlie Ellis, Chris Freeman, Alex Cleminson and skipper Ronnie Booth.
Freeman added two conversions and a penalty.
In worsening conditions, Faringdon closed the gap before snatching a late victory.
Unbeaten Harwell overcame Oxford 59-7 Harwell led 32-7 at half-time, with two tries each for Andy Lee and Gavin Wilde and one for Ollie Wright. Mike Phillips kicked two conversions and a penalty.
Further tries by Dave Paton, Andy Blease, Tom Nicholas, Ollie Wright and Dan Corne completed the win.
