Former Oxford United loan midfielder Mark Wilson is among a group charged by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) over an investigation into “suspicious betting activity”.
The ex-Manchester United player made three starts and three substitute appearances while at United last season.
The allegations focus on horses being bet on to lose between November 1, 2010 and March 31, 2011 – before Wilson came to United.
The 30-year-old has also been charged with offering bribes to former jockey Andrew Heffernan.
