This fantastic Peter Leven strike for Oxford United against Port Vale is in the running for the Mitre Goal of the Year at the Football League Awards.
It is one of ten nominated for the award run in conjunction with Soccer AM.
Leven lobbed Valiants keeper Stuart Tomlinson from just inside the Vale half for one of the best goals seen at the Kassam Stadium.
Now the club’s fans are being asked to cast their vote for the Scotman’s incredible strike, which came in the 2-1 win on October 29.
A Football League panel put together the top-ten following submissions from clubs.
The contenders were shown on Soccer AM last Saturday and viewers’ votes will now decide the five-strong shortlist put to guests at the awards ceremony in London on Sunday, March 11.
Fans can vote for their favourite by visiting www. soccer-am.com/goalofthe year.
Vote must be submitted by Sunday, February 14.
The other nominees are: Sean McConville (Accrington), Omar Daley (Bradford), Peter Whittingham (Cardiff), Darren Ambrose (Crystal Palace), Billy Sharp (Doncaster), Kári Árnason (Plymouth), Paul Coutts (Preston), Lewis Grabban (Rotherham), Will Grigg (Walsall).
Meanwhile, Oxford United manager Chris Wilder says he will be breathing a sigh of relief when the transfer window closes at midnight today.
“I don’t really look forward to it,” said Wilder.
“It’s part and parcel of the job, but I didn’t enjoy last week if I’m honest.
“We’ll have a look at the numbers and we’ll see, but we won’t be making any knee-jerk reactions.”

Some belters there. Lev's is definitely in the top 5, though the first four are all contenders. But if I wasn't biased (I've voted biasedly obviously) I would vote for the first goal by the Accrington fella. Unbelievable technique....
