FORMER Oxford United loanee Jonjoe Kenny helped England make history in the Under-20 World Cup final.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s first-half strike earned a 1-0 win against Venezuela in Suwon, South Korea, to claim the first World Cup success for the national side at any level since the senior team won in 1966.
Everton’s Kenny, who made 20 appearances to help the U’s win automatic promotion from Sky Bet League Two in the 2015/16 season, played every minute of England’s campaign.
The side are managed by Paul Simpson, who spent four years at the Manor from 1988.
But the victory was only assured by another player with a link to United.
Freddie Woodman, son of ex-U’s goalkeeper Andy, made a brilliant penalty save to deny Adalberto Penaranda 16 minutes from time.

United midfielder Ryan Ledson was expected to be named in the squad, but had to pull out with a knee injury.
Congratulations to all the lads and the staff on winning the U20's World Cup! Made up for them all 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
