MANSFIELD Town boss Paul Cox thought his side were unlucky to come away from the Kassam Stadium empty-handed on Saturday.

The Stags had the better of the first half, but found United keeper Ryan Clarke in inspired form and wasted several good chances.

But Cox was critical of his side’s finishing, and says it is something they need to put right.

“If I’m honest I thought the game should have been won in the opening 20 minutes because I thought we had enough chances,” he said.

“We keep turning round and saying the keeper is in inspired form, but some of those chances he shouldn’t have been able to get to.

“We need to be more ruthless in the opposition’s box.”

He added: “A 3-0 scoreline looks like we have been dominated and beaten badly and how we have come away with nothing is extremely frustrating.

“I think we had 14 attempts on target and another five to ten off target.

“We are left scratching our heads.

“We had most of the ball, created some good chances and it is frustrating to get nothing from the game.”
