Caretaker boss Mickey Lewis does not believe that Oxford United’s exceptional unbeaten away run will alter the way Bristol Rovers will approach today’s game.

United’s third place was consolidated by a 1-1 draw at Bury on Tuesday night, a result which made it 15 Sky Bet League Two games unbeaten on the road.

It is now more than ten months since they last tasted an away defeat in the league.

“I think people are aware of it because it’s been going on for so long,” Lewis, pictured, said. “Long may it continue, but we are not preparing any differently.

“Are teams wary? They will know our record, but when you go to anybody’s home ground they always fancy themselves to win.

“I don’t think they will take our away record into consideration that much.

“It’s good to have it and we’d like to keep it.”

Rovers start the day just a point above the relegation zone after a disappointing season so far.

But after fellow strugglers Bury impressed in midweek, Lewis is not reading anything into league position.

He said: “They are better then where they are in the league, but a lot of that comes from not being able to get their best team out.

“It’ll be a really big crowd. With our support as well, it will be a good atmosphere.”
