BRISTOL Rovers laid new rain covers yesterday morning in a bid for tomorrow’s game against Oxford United to go ahead.
Despite plenty of rain earlier in the week, the Memorial Stadium pitch was playable when the protective sheeting was laid.
Rovers, who are also at home to Cheltenham Town on Tuesday are hopeful, although prolonged rain is forecast throughout Saturday.
Ian Holtby, stadium manager, said: “We are doing everything we can to get these next two vital games on, and these covers have given us a chance.”
