DARREN Way described Oxford United as comfortably the best team in Sky Bet League Two after watching his side put bodies on the line to claim a goalless draw at Huish Park.

Yeovil Town struck the crossbar early on, but spent most of the final 50 minutes defending for their lives.

Despite the point meaning they dropped to the foot of the table, the Glovers’ interim boss, who faced leaders Plymouth Argyle on Saturday, was pleased to take a point against a side he rates highly.

He said: “That’s the best team in the league, by a million miles – they are a force.

“They’ve got a good squad at their disposal, but (U’s boss Michael Appleton) has got them playing really well.”

United winger Alex MacDonald was gutted not to finish 2015 with a victory.

He said: “We came back into the changing room and although we were by far the better team in the second half it felt like a loss.

“We’re that disappointed we haven’t taken the three points.

“But the gaffer emphasised we did everything we could to win the game and sometimes it doesn’t fall for you.

“It was a frustrating afternoon.

“They were throwing their bodies on the line, but that’s where they are in the league.

“We kept going and had a good second half display.

“We were just missing one thing and I think we all know what that was.”
