MICHAEL Collins has revealed Oxford United are using a reminder of their hammering at Cambridge United to get fired-up for games.

The midfielder described the 5-1 defeat earlier this month as one of the lowest points of his career.

United, who have beaten Tranmere and Northampton since the setback, are determined to avoid suffering a repeat, so the scoreline is being pinned up before games.

Collins said: “The moment we walked into the dressing room (at Northampton) it was the first thing the gaffer pointed to.

“We have a little notice on the board now to remind us every week of that result so we never forget it.

“It’s just the scoreline and it’s there every time for us to zone in.

“That’s our driver, to make sure it never happens again and at the moment it seems to be working, there’s a really positive attitude in the dressing room.”
