DARRELL Clarke is confident his Bristol Rovers side will not suffer a hangover from last week’s big victory when they host Oxford United.

The Pirates hammered Northampton Town 6-0 at Sixfields and head into tomorrow’s clash eyeing a third-straight Sky Bet League One triumph.

Rovers have endured a mixed start to the season, with six wins and six defeats in their opening 12 games.

Boss Clarke (right) knows the importance of moving on quickly from last week’s showing at Northampton and believes his players will be fully focused.

He told the Bristol Post: “It’s about building on things and putting some results together, we’ve won three out of the last four.

“It’s a tough competitive league, you’ve only got to look at the table and realise there are only two or three teams who have got consistency, the rest are there or thereabouts.”

Clarke added: “It can happen in this league.

“If you’re not at it you can quickly find yourself suffering a heavy defeat, so you’ve got to get back into the zone.

“With this group we don’t rest on our laurels, I don’t allow that.

“We move on quickly from a defeat and a win as well.”
