OXFORD United have turned down a bid for Marvin Johnson from Hull City.
Speculation of a £1million bid from the Sky Bet Championship club on Thursday night and it has been confirmed the U’s have rejected an approach.
But the winger was handed a start this afternoon in the 3-0 victory against Portsmouth.
United manager Pep Clotet reiterated chairman Darryl Eales’s comments to a fans’ forum on Wednesday night and was pleased with the 26-year-old’s efforts.
He said: “The same situation applies to what the chairman said on Wednesday – Marvin is not for sale.
“Apart from that I’m very happy with his performance, his attitude and his commitment.
“He worked hard for his teammates and it was a tough game for him in the first half.
“When the game opened up in the second half he gave a glimpse of what he can do and he was fantastic going forward as well.”
