OXFORD United will be fired up to become the team which ends Rochdale’s formidable home record, according to Curtis Nelson.

Keith Hill’s side picked up just one point from their first three games at Spotland in Sky Bet League One, but have bagged a perfect ten wins out of ten since to become the division’s best side on their own turf.

United won the reverse fixture 1-0 at the Kassam Stadium in September thanks to Liam Sercombe’s late goal.

But while their chances of completing the league double look slim, Dale’s daunting record on their home patch is an incentive for Nelson as United look to bounce back from their 2-1 defeat at AFC Wimbledon last weekend.

The centre back said: “When you’re going to a team with good home form you want to take that record away from them.

“It wasn’t nice to lose at Wimbledon.

“It happens in football, you can’t win them all, but we’re out there to put it right and move on.

“The results have been quite good recently so we can’t complain in that respect.

“We did react quite well after Northampton (United’s previous defeat) and we’ll use that to get a result on Saturday.”
