BANBURY United went top of the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division after a 4-0 victory over Kings Lynn Town.

Mike Ford’s side made it three wins out of three with a commanding display, scoring all their goals in the opening period.

Banbury went ahead after just three minutes, when Mark Bell cut inside and fired past Alex Street.

It was 2-0 in the 12th minute, when Felipe Barcelos shot home from a narrow angle.

Banbury continued to press and scored No 3 five minutes later through Duran Martin.

Goalkeeper Jack Harding made his first save in the 43rd minute as the hosts looked for a way back into the game.

But they were left stunned when the visitors made it 4-0 before the break.

Zac McEachran played in Barcelos, who made no mistake to score his second.

Banbury controlled the game comfortably enough for most of the second half though Harding was called upon to make a couple of decent saves within a couple of minutes of each other just before the hour mark.

First he tipped a Lee Stevenson shot around a post, and then came out quickly to block a Leon Mettam effort.

Bell scraped the outside of a post as Banbury looked for a fifth, but it did not matter as their first-half display ensured the points were safe.

Banbury Utd: Harding, White, Lynn (Hopkins HT), Nash, Westbrook, Gunn, McEachran (Browne 57), Martin, Janes, Barcelos (Howards 73), Bell. Subs not used: Self, Blackstock.
