CAPTAIN Ed Phillips starred as leaders Banbury recorded a comeback 28-15 victory over Malvern.
For the first time this season, Bulls, who were in action in the Oxfordshire Cup final last night, went into half-time scoreless at 8-0 down in the Midlands 2 West South clash.
And they also lost Matt Goode to injury after the centre suffered a broken arm.
Phillips began the second half by converting his own try, before repeating that feat to make it 14-8.
Manu Paniagua dotted down and Phillips added the extras as Bulls raced to 21-8.
Malvern put pressure on the hosts and moved to within a score of victory with a converted try.
However, a quickly taken penalty from Phillips led to Ian Isham going over.
Phillips converted with the last kick of the game.
