BANBURY United’s unbeaten league run is now into double figures, but they could not find a way past hosts Shortwood United in a goalless draw.
A heavy pitch and squally wind made life difficult for both teams in the Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West clash.
Mark Bell tested Tom Parry, while Ross Staley hit a post for the hosts.
Bell went close again, but the Puritans had to settle for a point, which means it is now ten league games without defeat.
Banbury United: Harding, White, Steedman, Martin, Wise, Gunn, Stanbridge, Nash, Johnson, Bell, McEachran. Subs: Joyce, Welch-Hayes, Kalakoutis, Westbrook, Browne.
Attendance: 91.
THE draw came after a much-changed United side bowed out of the Birmingham Senior Cup at Lye Town.
Leam Howards put the visitors ahead in the second-round tie, but after Louis Joyce was dismissed for an off-the-ball incident, Lye equalised.
The tie went to penalties, where only Jon Steedman scored for Banbury in a 4-1 shoot-out defeat.
This Saturday the Puritans will put their good form to the test when leaders Cinderford Town visit the Spencer Stadium.
