DARIUS Browne and Andy Gunn scored in the last 15 minutes to hand Banbury United a 2-0 win over Wimborne Town and stretch their winning run to five games.

The victory keeps the Puritans fifth in Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West, having only lost twice this campaign.

Mike Ford's side created the better chances, with Zac McEachran and Mark Bell going close, before Duran Martin hit the bar.

And they thought they had broken the deadlock on 32 minutes, only for Leam Howards effort to be disallowed for offside.

The Puritans continued to push in the second half with Bell firing wide, before goalkeeper Jack Harding was called into action to deny Carl Preston.

But Banbury finally scored when Brown fired home on 75 minutes after top-scorer Ricky Johnson was denied by Wimborne stopper Jason Harvell.

And Gunn rose highest to head home on 81 minutes to seal victory.
