BANBURY United return to league action with a fitness concern over in-form striker Ricky Johnson.

The Puritans host Yate Town looking for a third successive victory in Evo-Stick Southern League Division 1 South & West.

But they may have to do without Johnson, who made it five goals in his previous three appearances with the second goal in a 2-1 win over Didcot Town last week.

During the game, which also saw Leam Howards find the net, Johnson picked up a knock to his shoulder.

It saw the front man miss Saturday’s goalless FA Trophy first round tie at Hungerford Town and was expected to keep him on the sidelines for Tuesday night’s replay.

Boss Mike Ford said: “I’ll have to be careful, because I don’t want to risk making it worse.”

“He’s a very good player and he’s in a rich vein of form at the moment.”

The treatment room is busy at the moment, with Johnson joined by Mark Bell (calf), Jack Westbrook (glandular fever) and Charlie Wise (hamstring).

Wise was forced off late in Saturday’s game at Premier Division side Hungerford Town.

Following a first half of few chances, Banbury had the best chances after the break.

Louis Joyce mis-kicked when through on goal.

Then Zac McEachran’s shot from 30 yards had too much sting for Paul Strudley, but the keeper gathered at the second attempt.
