Banbury United striker Howard Forinton says he is willing to play a part in tomorrow’s Premier Division relegation battle with Leamington – despite competing in the London Marathon 24 hours later.

Forinton, who aims to finish in under four hours and is running for Muscular Dystrophy, said he would be having a chat with boss Ady Fuller to work out a plan.

“I would not relish having to play 90 minutes and then doing a marathon the next day because I would worry about getting a dead leg.

“Hopefully, I can start on the bench and not be needed.

“I have got faith in the other lads that they can get the result we want.

“If it was quite tight and the manager thinks I can help, maybe I could come on for 20 minutes at the end.

“I have been playing Saturday and training every Sunday. The furthest I have run after a game is 17 miles and that was tough.

“I have raised £1,110 for the charity and am hoping to get that up to £1,500.

“Everyone has been really generous and lots of the supporters have sponsored me, so I don’t want to let anyone down.

“I’ll just have to see how it pans out, but I would be willing to play if needed.”

Fuller added: “It’s going to be a big day for him on Sunday and I knew about it when he signed.

“I’m hoping Howard can play some part in the game.”

Defenders Liam Dolman and Dan Chilton face late fitness tests, though Simeon Williams is likely to miss out after being injured in Tuesday’s Red Insure Cup final loss to Clevedon.

He added: “It’s a massive game, but if we beat Leamington we are staying up.”

North Leigh manager Mark Gee wants a double boost to their Division 1 South & West play-off-bid – by beating visitors Poole Town and hoping Bideford see off Hungerford Town.

The Senior Cup winners trail fifth-placed Hungerford by six points.

“Bideford are going to receive the title trophy at the game, so I want to send them my best wishes,” said Gee.

“I hope they win in style. If the results go our way then it sets it up nicely for the trip to Hungerford on the last day.”

Didcot Town will be without the injured trio of Alex Stanley, Kevin Halliday and Steve Davis for the visit of already-relegated Stourport Swifts.

Abingdon United give a fitness test to Adam Kingsbeer (hamstring) as they look to make it three wins in a row at home to Bridgwater.
